Founded by Freddy Lima, whose 25+ years of experience in the iron works industry built a reputation strong enough to grow Boston Iron Works into the only iron works franchise in the United States, the brand stands for something real — work that lasts, done by people who care.
Boston Iron Works North proudly carries that tradition to the North Shore of Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and up through York County, Maine. Led by CEO and President Keith Santos and Vice President and Fabrication Director Paulo Souza da Silva, our team brings the same standard of excellence that built the Boston Iron Works name — now closer to home for North Shore communities.

Every estimate we provide is completely free of charge. We come to your project, assess what’s needed, and give you an honest number — no pressure, no fees.
Our team is OSHA certified, and we take jobsite safety as seriously as we take the quality of our work. Every installation is approached with care for your property, your family, and the people doing the work.
What We Build
Our bread and butter is residential railings — whether you’re looking to enhance the curb appeal of your home or need reliable, sturdy railing to help a family member safely navigate steps, we build it right and build it to last.
Beyond railings, we handle metal staircases for industrial applications, spiral staircases for stunning indoor and outdoor spaces, custom driveway gates, and decorative or security fencing. If it involves iron and craftsmanship, we’re the call to make.

Paulo Souza da Silva — Vice President & Fabrication Director
Paulo Souza da Silva brings approximately 16 years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, and structural steel installation to Boston Iron Works North. From residential railings to large-scale industrial projects, Paulo has built a career defined by precision, safety, and craftsmanship that holds up under real-world conditions.
Over the course of his career, Paulo has worked across residential, commercial, and industrial settings, fabricating and installing handrails, staircases, platforms, guardrails, structural supports, and custom metal components. He is skilled in working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum — handling everything from fabrication and welding to finishing and field installation.
Before bringing his talents to New England, Paulo contributed to major industrial projects in Brazil, including work supporting the oil and gas industry — experience that sharpened his technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to quality under demanding conditions.
Now focused on building his career in Massachusetts, Paulo is proud to serve as the fabrication backbone of Boston Iron Works North, delivering the kind of reliable, high-quality workmanship that contractors, businesses, and property owners can count on for years to come.
